Areti Internet Launches Grid Canvas
Areti Internet, a leading internet hosting provider today announced the official launch of GridCanvas, a new infrastructure solution for co location customers.
The company has created the solution in response to changes in the co location market place. Increasing demand for Data Centre space coupled with rising energy costs has seen co location become increasingly expensive.
A recent industry report has shown that demand for data centre space has grown by 12.5% in the past year matched by only a 4.2% growth in supply. According to Tier1 Research the increase in demand contributes to an already lopsided supply / demand curve, which is working to the benefit of data centre operators. Ultimately this has led to a hike in prices – in some cases of more than 80%.
In the medium term things do not look set to change. A recent study by data centre sector analyst Broadgroup warns that the increase of space in London alone will be just 2% per year.
In reaction to this trend Areti, an established hosting provider of 12 years standing has partnered with California based 3Tera to launch GridCanvas. GridCanvas enables customers to assemble, deploy, monitor and scale their infrastructure through a web based canvas application. Using smart software, GridCanvas is driving down the cost of infrastructure build and management using Grid technology and virtualisation.
Nicholas J Dear, founder and Managing Director said "since the market upheaval in June 2006 data centre providers have made regular and substantial price increases. At that time it was clear that we had to rethink our co location strategy so we began working closely with 3Tera; the results are exceptional. Co location customers need a more cost effective, more efficient alternative and GridCanvas is the answer. The benefits far out weigh the traditional co location approach and GridCanvas will revolutionise this market place"
GridCanvas will be available form 1 st March 2008 with the official launch exhibiting at Data Centre World at the Barbican in February 2008.
